Peter, played by Chris Noth, is that ex who keeps showing up at parties you specifically didn’t invite him to. You know the type—charming, good hair, but with a track record that makes you question your life choices.

In Season 7, Peter is running for governor again, which is like your neighbor deciding to paint their house during a hurricane. It’s messy, loud, and everyone’s pretending it’s going to turn out fine. Alicia’s eye-rolls are the real MVP here, speaking for every viewer who’s ever had to grin through a family photo.

Eli Gold: The Friend Who Fights Your Battles

Then there’s Alan Cumming as Eli Gold. This guy is the human equivalent of a Swiss Army knife—sharp, slightly dramatic, and always there when you spill coffee on your shirt. Eli manages Alicia’s campaign with the energy of a stage mom who’s had too much caffeine, and we love him for it.

Remember that moment when Eli tries to teach Alicia to smile genuinely for a photo op? It’s like watching a cat try to swim—awkward, but deeply endearing. You nod along because you’ve had to fake a smile at a work event while your shirt was untucked.
