How to Test Ph in Body

これさえ読めば安心! How to Test Ph in Bodyの進め方を順番に解説します。

Testing your saliva is the easiest, grossest method out there. You literally spit onto a pH test strip (available at any pharmacy for like ten bucks) first thing in the morning before you brush or drink anything. Yes, that morning breath is now science. Wait about 15 seconds and compare the color to the chart.

Saliva pH usually hovers around 6.5 to 7.0. If it’s lower than that? Don’t panic. It mostly means your mouth is acidic, which could be from that midnight coffee you had. One low reading isn't a death sentence—it’s just a signal to maybe drink some water and chill.

The Pee Strip Striptease

This is the most common DIY method, like Jen’s purple nightmare. You pee on a strip (or dip it in a cup—you do you) and read the color within a minute. Important: your first urine of the day is typically more acidic because your body is dumping metabolic waste from yesterday. So don’t test that one unless you want to feel bad about yourself.

Instead, test the second pee of the day, or about two hours after a meal. A healthy urine pH range is 4.5 to 8.0—yep, that’s a huge range. If you see 5.0 or lower consistently, your diet might be a bit heavy on meat, cheese, and soda. But again, it’s not your blood pH.

Side note: If your strip ever turns deep blue or green (very alkaline), you probably just ate a massive spinach salad or took a weird supplement. Don’t start believing you’re a superhero. It just means you have excess alkaline minerals in your urine.
